Women’s Auxiliary luncheon honors Alice Handelman

The Women’s Auxiliary for the Jewish Aged (formerly The Auxiliary JCA) has named Alice Handelman as the recipient of its 2013 Honoree Award for her service to the elderly. She will be recognized during the Auxiliary’s spring luncheon at 11:30 a.m. June 11 at The Cedars of Town & Country Plaza Restaurant.

Handelman was community relations director at the former Jewish Center for Aged for 18 years following 10 years as a writer for the St. Louis Blues Hockey team’s Goal Magazine and the National Hockey League.

“We are honoring Alice for her distinguished years of dedicated service to the JCA and the elderly in our community,” said Susan Harris, co-president of the Women’s Auxiliary. “Her expertise, achievement and caring she continually shared with our Auxiliary is immeasurable.” Remarks on Handelman’s career will be offered by Robert A. Cohn, Editor-in-Chief Emeritus of the St. Louis Jewish Light. The luncheon costs $15; for more information or to RSVP, call 314-956-1943.
