Women in Business networking event features keynote talk by Carmen Jacob

The St. Louis Jewish Light will hold its third annual Women in Business networking event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 23 at the Grand Ballroom of the St. Louis Marriott West, 660 Maryville Centre Drive.

Carmen Jacob, founder and CEO of NextGen Information Services, will be this year’s keynote speaker.  She will tell her story: from earning both business and nursing degrees in her native Guatemala where she worked for the Minister of Health, to life as a collateral analyst in Houston, then back to South America and later Mexico where she managed operations for Emerson Electric. This exposure to the Information Technology field helped Jacob develop the idea to start NextGen in 1997. Jacob, winner of many awards for her commitment to diversity, also sits on the boards of several St. Louis businesses.

Other exhibitors at the event will be from a wide variety of businesses, including but not limited to professional women in accounting, finance, insurance, hospitality, education, real estate and retail.

The June 25 issue of the Jewish Light will feature profiles of the women-owned, run or centered businesses that are exhibiting at the event.

The Jewish Light’s Women in Business event presents an opportunity to network with women from all over the St. Louis area.

Light hors d’oeuvres will be served. There is no charge to attend the event, but registration is requested and is available online at stljewishlight.com/web-registration or by calling 314-743-3660.
