Voter registration drive planned at Congregation B’nai Amoona

B’nai Amoona’s Social Action Committee will offer voter registration from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7 at B’nai Amoona, 324 Mason Road in Creve Coeur.  The voter registration will take place during a B’nai Amoona Sukkot Program called “The Whole World Rests On Three Things: Torah, Prayer, and Acts of Loving Kindness.”

Phyllis Cantor, chair of the Social Action Committee, said the drive is aimed at offering a convenient way for the citizens of Missouri to get registered to vote.

At B’nai Amoona on Oct. 7, volunteers, led by event chairs Dale Steinberg and Fritzi Lainoff, will assist visitors by providing voter registration applications, assisting in filling them out, and taking care of delivering completed applications to the Board of Elections office. The event will also provide information about the elections, absentee voting, voting for people with disabilities, and voting by provisional ballots. Those wishing to register to vote should bring either a Social Security card or drivers license as a form of identification.

The deadline for voters to register in time for the Nov. 6 elections is the fourth Wednesday before the election — Oct. 10 (voters must either mail an application postmarked by Oct. 10, or the application may be dropped off at the election office by the 10th). Applications are available at public libraries, public schools and at voter registration drives or online (see URL below).
