Volunteers, sponsors sought for NCJW Back-to-School Store

The National Council of Jewish Women-St. Louis Section will help prepare more than 1,000 underserved area children at its 2012 Back-to-School! Store on Sunday, July 22.

The “store” provides pre-qualified school children with the resources they need to succeed and a reason to feel good about the start of a new school year. Almost 40 community agencies and churches and more than 500 volunteers will carry out the store, NCJW’s largest community service project, which has helped more than 9,500 children in elementary school since it started in 2001.

A child sponsorship donation of $180 provides a child with school clothing and supplies including a hat, gloves and coat to begin the school year ready to learn. Over $100,000 is needed to run the Back-to-School! Store. Many volunteer opportunities are available online at www.ncjwbtss.org.
