Published February 9, 2018
“Voices of the Generations” will be the focus of a lecture by Julie Kohner at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22 at Congregation Shaare Emeth.
Kohner’s presentation teaches about the Holocaust through its impact on her family and the experience of her parents, both survivors, Hanna and Walter Kohner. The presentation includes the screening of a 1953 episode of the television program, “This Is Your Life,” featuring Hanna Kohner, which was the first time a Holocaust survivor shared her experiences on national television.
Julie Kohner has been a Jewish educator for more than 30 years. After Kohner’s mother passed away in 1990, she began to create educational programs to honor the victims and survivors of the Holocaust.
The presentation is free and open to the public but seating is limited and RSVPs are required. For more information or to RSVP, contact Andrew Goldfeder at 314-442-3711 or [email protected]. Light refreshments to follow program; dietary laws observed.
This program is sponsored by the Rubin (z’’l) and Gloria Feldman Family Education Institute of the Holocaust Museum and Learning Center and Congregation Shaare Emeth.
