United Hebrew Congregation has announced the retirement of longtime Executive Director Bob Gummers on March 21. Gummers has been a part of United Hebrew for more than 27 years and according to congregation leaders he was an integral contributor in the transition from its location on Skinker Boulevard to its current home in Chesterfield.
“We deeply appreciate all of Bob’s efforts and loyalty in managing the office, maintenance of the building and grounds and overseeing the management of the United Hebrew Cemetery,” said Lexie Goldsmith, president of UH. “He has always been a welcoming and friendly presence at congregational functions and services over these many years. We wish Bob well as he will now have some much deserved time to spend with his family and especially his grandchildren.”
A Shabbat service to recognize Gummers will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 17 in the Millstone Sanctuary at United Hebrew, 13788 Conway Road. For directions, visit the congregation’s website: unitedhebrew.org.
