U. City Shul, Kollel welcome Rabbi Orlowek

A Shabbat meal and provocative conversation is on tap during the upcoming Shabbat dinner with Rabbi Noach Orlowek Friday, Jan. 28 at U. City Shul, 700 North & South Road in University City. “Dealing with Today’s Financial Crisis” will be the subject of Rabbi Orlowek’s talk, which will be preceded by Carlebach-style Kabbalat Shabbat services at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m.

Rabbi Orlowek lectures on relationships and character building and counsels students privately on a weekly basis. In addition to his work at Machon Yaakov, Rabbi Orlowek serves as Dean of Students in Yeshivas Torah Ore in Jerusalem.

• St. Louis Kollel Presents Chinese Melave Malka:

St. Louis Kollel will hold a Chinese Melave Malka, its second in a series, at 8:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29 at U. City Shul.  Rabbi Orlowek will speak on “Building Trust and Communication in the Home.”  

The dinner will feature hot and sour soup, egg rolls with duck sauce, sesame chicken,  vegetable lo mein and  brownies. The cost is $18 per person. Sponsorship opportunities for $100 are available.
