The Jewish Community Center wants to invite the St. Louis Jewish community to join its staff and board as it welcomes new immigrants to St. Louis.

To do so, the J will be collecting much-needed household items for distribution to Afghan and other immigrant families who are settling here. Please see the International Institute’s New American Wish List for requested items, which can be dropped off at both J locations from Monday, Aug. 30 – Thursday, Sept. 30.  Among the items most needed are personal care products such as toothbrushes, diapers and toilet paper; cleaning products such as laundry detergent, mops and trash cans; linen; baby furniture; and kitchen paraphernalia such as pots, pans, dishware and cooking utensils.

The J can accept the smaller items; if you wish to donate furniture, please contact the representative on the wish list.
