Temple Israel resumes monthly group meetings in February

Life in Transition and Exploring Life’s Journey, monthly groups led by licensed social worker Jan Nykin are beginning new seasons in February. Each group meets one Tuesday per month, February through August, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Temple Israel, #1 Rabbi Alvan D. Rubin Drive in Creve Coeur.

Life in Transition  began Tuesday, Feb. 5. This group is for individuals who are coping with the loss of a loved one, divorce, job transition or retirement. The class includes open and enriching conversation where attendees will discuss a healthy grieving process, resolution, adjustment and strategies for moving forward and finding fulfillment. Class dates are: (all Tuesdays) Future class dates are March 5, April 2, May 7, June 4, July 2 and Aug. 6.

Exploring Life’s Journey will reconvene on the third Tuesday of each month, starting Feb. 19 through August 2019, and includes exciting group discussion to help participants connect with Judaism and their spirituality. The class will also help participants to answer questions about their purpose in life and the role God and spirituality in one’s life.  Class dates are  (all Tuesdays) Feb. 19, March 19, April 16, May 21, June 18, July 16 and Aug. 20.

Both groups are facilitated by Nykin, a psychotherapist in private practice with a Para-Rabbinic certification. Both groups are free and open to the community. No RSVP required; attend one or all.
