Teens can sample JOLT programs at three events

St. Louis teens can sample JOLT (Jewish Opportunities and Learning for Teens), a community-wide teen program for students in grades 8 to 12, during three events this summer. 

JOLT, a program of Central Agency for Jewish Education, will hold the following events as part of Beyond the Classroom — Exploring JOLT:

• Wednesday, June 3: Cooking for Community Service, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Congregation  B’nai Amoona, 324 S. Mason Road. Teens will prepare dinner for Lydia’s House with JOLT staff member Betsy Enger and learn about this transitional housing for abused women and their children and performing acts of loving kindness. The cost is $15.

• Thursday, June 11: Jews on the Silver Screen, 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the in the Holocaust Museum and Learning Center Theatre in the Jewish Federation Building, 12 Millstone Campus Drive.  Participants will watch movies while enjoying concession stand refreshments with JOLT staff member Andy Schwebel. The cost is $15.

• Thursday, June 18: Sports Night of Fun, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  at Temple Emanuel, 12166 Conway Road. Teens will enjoy Israel sports, including Capture the Flag and Gaga, and sweet treats from the ice cream truck with JOLT staff members Subie Banaszynski and Andrew Goldfeder. The cost is $10.
