Teen blog launched on jewishinstlouis.org
Published June 9, 2010
The community website jewishinstlouis.org has launched its first Jewish teen blog, iTalk : uTalk at www.jewishinstlouis.org/italk. The blog, which will enable St. Louis Jewish teenagers to have a voice on a major Jewish community website and to interact with the Jewish community on a wide-range of topics, will feature new postings two to three times a week in the website’s teen section, www.jewishinstlouis.org/teens. Five teen bloggers (Andrew Schatz, Wendy Low, Ellie Sonnenwirth, Jason Greenberg and Lee Remi) will cover a large variety of topics related to Judaism. They will discuss events, politics, and ideas that are important to them. They will also blog about topics based on suggestions from jewishinstlouis and community members.
To help keep the conversation and tone professional and appropriate, there are two adult moderators: Rabbi Michael Rovinsky, National Conference of Synagogue Youth (NCSY) St. Louis District Coordinator and Chapter Advisor, and Simone Picker, Nishmah Banot Fellow (along with jewishinstlouis staff).
