St. Louis NORC seeks volunteers

The St. Louis NORC (Naturally Occurring Retirement Community), a non-sectarian neighborhood program operating in the Creve Coeur area, is seeking volunteers to help residents with small tasks at home.

The St. Louis NORC’s mission is to help older adults remain living at home. Volunteers are needed in these areas:

• Minor plumbing, electrical and “handyman” home repairs – changing a faucet washer, replacing a furnace filter, programming a remote control, organizing closets, flipping a mattress — and other tasks at home.

• Troubleshooting computer software or hardware problems – training older adults to use a computer or helping a resident solve why their computer won’t do what they want.

Volunteers determine their own schedule; even an hour a month is welcomed.
