Members of the Senior Kollel enjoy a morning learning seder in the St. Louis Kollel’s newly expanded Torah Learning Center.

The St. Louis Kollel will launch a $750,000 36-hour triple match Charidy campaign kicking off at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 30 and concluding Thursday, July 1 at 10 p.m.

The campaign is part of “an unprecedented expansion effort which includes a complete remodel of the Kollel facility, the hiring of a new Rosh Kollel and the recruiting of five new Kollel families to St. Louis,” according to a news release.

“It’s all about community building,” Kollel Board President Mayer Klein said in a statement. “With this effort, synagogues, schools, St. Louis Jewish institutions across the board will enjoy the benefits of having an even more thriving Kollel in its midst. The Kollel has been a major force in this community for the past 30 years, and this marks a giant step forward in propelling us to even greater heights in serving the community.”

Plans are currently underway for the new families to be joining the Kollel by this coming fall season. With the new Rosh Kollel, Rabbi Dovid Miller, at the helm, the Kollel will have “an infusion of new energy and new vigor,” explains Rabbi Menachem Greenblatt, the outgoing Rosh Kollel. Greenblatt will be retiring from his position to focus his energies entirely on leading the Agudas Israel of St. Louis community; a position which he has held along with Rosh Kollel for the past 30 years.

The last piece of the expansion effort is the newly remodeled and expanded Torah Learning Center (or “TLC”). Dedicated by Dr. Todd and Jennie Silverman in memory of Todd’s sister, Lisa Lerman, the center offers a bright, airy, comfortable space to gather, equipped with the latest technology and seating for up to 60 people.
