Children and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors as well as descendants of victims of the Holocaust will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at the Federation Building, 12 Millstone Campus Dr., St. Louis, Mo. 63146. Those interested in this new group are invited to attend.
Matchmaking service will sponsor picnic
Sparks Matchmaking Service will sponsor a picnic from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, at Beirne Park in Creve Coeur. Cost is $2 which includes soda. Celebrity night will benefit Crisis Nursery
Celebrity Waitress & Waiters’ Night will benefit the St. Louis Crisis Nursery. The event will be held 5:30-10 p.m. Aug. 17 at Monarch Restaurant, 7401 Manchester Rd., Maplewood. Television, radio, newspaper, and sports celebrities, as well as corporate and civic leaders will wait tables, and their tips will benefit the nursery. To reserve a table call 314-644-3995.
Lunch-n-Learn session scheduled

Donations are sought for NCJW fundraiser
The National Council of Jewish Women-St. Louis Section is seeking donations for its 42nd annual fundraising event, “Couturier 2006,” Oct. 19-21. New and like-new designer clothing, accessories, jewelry, collectables, framed art, furniture, and many other items are accepted, and tax valuations are provided upon request. Proceeds support NCJW’s community service and advocacy programs for women, children and families. Items may be dropped off at NCJW Resale Shop, 8612 Olive Blvd., University City. Press Club plans to honor Klotzer
The Press Club of Metropolitan St. Louis will honor Charles Klotzer, editor emeritus of the St. Louis Journalism Review, as one of its media persons of the year on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at the Sheraton Westport Chalet Hotel. Also honored will be Russ Mitchell, anchor of the CBS Evening News Weekend Editions. Cocktails will begin at 6 p.m. and dinner and the program at 7:00 p.m. The cost is $100 a person.
