The Chabad Jewish Center of St. Charles County is hosting a music and cultural event next month.

The festival will offer a unique recognition of the Jewish music, traditions and foods, according to a news release.

The event will be held on Sunday, Aug. 15 from noon to 3:30 p.m. at the Foundry Art Centre at 520 N. Main Center in St. Charles.

The outdoor festival will join a lineup of cultural festivals in St. Charles, with a focus on highlighting Jewish life and traditions.

“The goal is to bring the County together for a joyful and fun-filled Jewish experience,” Bassy Landa, who directs the Chabad Jewish Center of St. Charles County together with her husband, Rabbi Chaim Landa, stated in the release.

The festival will feature the folk-rock duo “Rogers Park Band,” who specialize in Jewish-Chasidic folk music.

Their English and Hebrew lyrics “bring an upbeat message of love and joy,” the release states.

A local klezmer band, Will Soll & the Youngers of Zion, and Chicago’s Ruby Harris will also perform.

The festival will also include family entertainment. Admission, music and kids activities are free. The festival will also sell traditional Jewish foods, including kosher deli and potato knishes.
