Spiritual support group for Jews with mental illness

On Monday, Nov. 1, Achraiyut, a support group for Jewish persons with a mental illness, will meet at Congregation Neve Shalom, 1240 Dautel Lane in Creve Coeur.  In Hebrew, Achraiyut means “to assume responsibility.”  The group is designed for those who have taken the first step toward responsibility by accepting their mental illness and receiving treatment to achieve the greatest possible state of wellness. The group will continue to meet monthly, on the first Monday of each month from 7:15 to 9p.m.  There is no charge for attending the meetings.  The group will be facilitated by a person who is living with a mental illness.  This is not a therapy group, but rather a support group based on encouragement and positive feedback.  For more information, call 314-994-1542.
