Published April 27, 2011
Each day, children make choices that affect their health, their relationships, their self-confidence and ultimately their success in school. Parents are invited to learn how they can help their children develop healthy habits at a workshop from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 10 at the Saul Mirowitz Day School – Reform Jewish Academy, 11411 N. Forty Drive.
The workshop, “All the Right Ingredients,” will include:
• Healthy cooking demonstrations by the school’s Chef Kiersten Firquain (Bistro Kids) and registered dietician Kathy Mora.
• Secrets to a stress-free and happy childhood: Andy Pomerantz, Dr. Andy Zuckerman and Cheryl Maayan
• Sense Ability: How senses help kids succeed: Jamie Levison and Risa Shyres
• Locally Grown: From your garden to your table: Chef Matt (Bistro Kids) and Aura Kavadlo
• Healthy birthday treat ideas: Chef Monica Watson (Bistro Kids)
• A taste-test of healthy snacks…and more!
The workshop is presented in partnership by RJA and Bistro Kids farm-to-school lunch program. For more information or to RSVP, contact Patty at 314-569-2692 or [email protected].
