Shir Ami concert to benefit Jewish Fund for Human Needs

Shir Ami or “Songs of My People,” a musical group that performs Jewish music from a variety of countries and styles, will give a concert to benefit the Jewish Fund for Human Needs at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the jewish Community Center’s Arts & Education Building, 2 Millstone Campus Drive.  The concert is free to the public. A $10 donation to the fund is suggested. The concert is part of the Festival of Jewish Life.

JFHN is a joint project of the Jewish Community Relations Council and the St. Louis Rabbinical Association, with major funding from the Jewish Federation of St. Louis and the Lubin-Green Foundation, that awards small grants to social service agencies with little or no Jewish presence. Through these grants, JFHN helps to support small St. Louis area non-profits, which are providing direct services to those in need of food, housing, health care, education, employment and other essential human needs.

In addition to the concert, representatives from several agencies supported by the Jewish Fund will speak.

Space is limited and those wishing to participate must RSVP to [email protected] or 314-442-3771. For more information, contact JCRC Director of Domestic Issues/Social Justice Gail Wechsler at 314-442-3894 or [email protected].
