Shaving Israel will hold a fundraiser on Sunday, Dec. 2 featuring Adam Spielberg, a “Lone Soldier” from St. Louis who served in the Israeli Defense Forces. Lone Soldiers (Chayalim Bodedim in Hebrew) are non-Israelis who volunteer to serve in the IDF without benefit of local family support. Spielberg is a Chesterfield native who attended Parkway Central High School. In the IDF, he served on Israel’s borders with Lebanon and Gaza. The fundraiser for Shaving Israel — a local nonprofit that provides toiletries, personal items and food for IDF soldiers — takes place from 2 to 4 p.m. at Conway Meadows Clubhouse, 14325 Conway Meadows Court in  Chesterfield.
