Shaare Emeth to honor Pam and Ron Rubin
Published October 19, 2011
Congregation Shaare Emeth will honor Pam and Ron Rubin with the Harris Frank Community Service Award during the “Six Points Celebration: Inspiring Lives to Change the World,” beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 at the Frontenac Hilton, 1335 South Lindbergh Boulevard.
The Rubins, long-time members of Congregation Shaare Emeth, have provided support for numerous educational and programming projects in the community and within the congregation. Recently, their generosity led to the renovation of our Shaare Emeth’s library, now named the Hyman A. Rubin Library and Learning Center.
Among their contributions to the wider community, the Rubins worked with Jewish Federation to create “The Rubin Israel Experience,” which annually offers 10 young St. Louis Jewish adults between the ages of 27 and 40 a first-time trip to Israel at no cost.
Pam Rubin currently serves on the J Associates Board and the Jewish Light Board of Trustees. Ron Rubin serves on the Jewish Federation Board of Directors and the Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital Board of Directors.
Shaare Emeth established the Harris Frank Community Service Award in appreciation of Harris Frank’s more than 50 years of community service.
The award will recognize congregants who serve Shaare Emeth, the Jewish community and the greater St. Louis community with innovative ideas and leadership. RSVPs are required by Oct. 28.
Tickets are $125, with additional premier and sponsor levels available at additional cost.
