Congregation Shaare Emeth has appointed Karen Lucy as Director of Early Childhood Engagement and Director of the Shirlee Green Preschool, effective June 3.

Lucy has a strong and diverse resume including working in early childhood education for the past seven years. She has worked in the St. Louis Public School District, as a teacher at the Deutsch Early Childhood Center at Temple Israel, and most recently as co-director of TI’s Camp Shook.

“Karen has a warmth and passion for early childhood education, children and their families,” said Debbie Bram, Shaare Emeth’s Director of Jewish Life and Learning. “She brings creativity and an excitement to work within a collaborative organization.”

Lucy looks forwards to working with the parents and young children of both Shaare Emeth and Shirlee Green Preschool, as well as the entire educational team.

“I’m excited to start bringing in some fresh ideas to further enhance the wonderful learning environment already in place,” Lucy said.
