Shaare Emeth hosts weekend of events with Ellen Allard

Congregation Shaare Emeth welcomes Ellen Allard, a  multi-award winning recording artist, composer, performer and educator for an interactive Shabbat weekend Nov. 2-3.

The following events are open to the community:

• First Friday WOW Worship — Allard leads the congregation’s First Friday Shabbat service at 6 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 2. The interactive service is appropriate for all ages — children and adults.

• Preschool Teacher Professional Development — Allard will lead an interactive professional development workshop, open to all teachers at Jewish preschools, at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3. She will help teachers understand how music fits into the early childhood curriculum from a developmental standpoint.

• Sacred Time, Sacred Space, Sacred Moments: The Big Read! — From 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, Allard will help lead an event for families with children in preschool through second grade. Participants will have time to read, celebrate Havdalah, participate in a short activity and leave with a small token from the evening.

All events take place at Shaare Emeth, 11645 Ladue Road. For more information, contact Debbie Bram at [email protected] or 314-692-5345.

The WOW worship and the preschool teacher professional development session are sponsored by Shaare Emeth’s Alan Greenberg Early Childhood Endowment. The Saturday night event is made possible through a grant from Jewish Federation through the Gladys K. Crown Foundation honoring the memory of Shirlee Green and the Jewish Federation’s Rich Fund.
