Service project seeks volunteers for legal clinic

The Michael and Barbara Newmark Institute for Human Relations at the Jewish Community Relations Council is partnering with Legal Services of Eastern Missouri and the St. Louis University School of Law Legal Clinics to enhance the availability of legal services to the Hispanic community in the St. Louis area.  Referrals for intake will be accepted from the professionals staffing Casa de Salud, a medical clinic that primarily serves the Hispanic community.

This partnership will provide volunteer lawyers to periodically go to Casa de Salud to do intake of potential clients, and to provide lawyers who will accept cases for volunteer representation.  Fluency in Spanish, while desirable, is not required. Translators will be made available, as necessary. If you are able to assist in client intake and/or case representation, please email the information below to John Ammann, Director of the SLU LAW Legal Clinics or to Jim Guest, Director of the Volunteer Lawyers Program at Legal Services of Eastern Missouri. For more information, contact SLU law professor John Ammann at 314-977-2796 or [email protected]; or Jim Guest, Legal Services of Eastern Missouri 314- 256-8707 or [email protected].
