Senior Olympics set to take place Memorial Day weekend

St. Louis area athletes and volunteers are encouraged to participate in this year’s 32nd Annual St. Louis Senior Olympics. The Senior Olympic games will feature 85 events at 13 athletic venues – including many at the Jewish Community Center’s Creve Coeur campus.  The Olympics will be held over Memorial Day weekend, from May 26 to 31.

“These games are one of the biggest sporting events in our community,” said Nancy Weigley, St. Louis Senior Olympics Chair. “It is extremely rewarding to see men and women 50 and older coming together to experience five days of competition, fun and camaraderie.”

In 2010, more than 1,400 senior athletes and 300 volunteers participated in the games, the eldest of which was 97 years old. For more information on participating or to volunteer for the St. Louis Senior Olympics, contact Phil Ruben at 314-442-3279 or visit stlouisseniorolympics.org.
