Senior Olympics set for Memorial Day weekend

This year’s St. Louis Senior Olympics will feature 85 events at 14 of St. Louis’ finest athletic venues. Stretching from St. Peters to Forest Park, the 31st Annual St. Louis Senior Olympic games will commence over the Memorial Day Weekend, May 27-31.

“These games are one of the biggest sporting events in our community. It is extremely rewarding to see men and women 50 and better, coming together to experience five days of competition, fun and camaraderie,” said Nancy Weigley, St. Louis Senior Olympics Chair.

In 2009, more than 1,400 athletes and 300 volunteers participated in the games, with the oldest participant being 101 years old.

The St. Louis Senior Olympics Games, a program of the Jewish Community Center, is made possible through generous community support in the form of in-kind and cash donations. Entry forms for the 2010 games are available at Jewish Community Center locations, local Schnucks stores and online at www.stlouisseniorolympics.org.
