Cultural Leadership is currently searching for middle school and high school students to apply to join its next High School Leadership and Emerging Changemakers classes starting this December!
Cultural Leadership is a student leadership and social change organization that develops diverse youth from across the St. Louis region into leaders and changemakers.
“We accomplish this through immersive learning, leadership development, and empathy building through the lenses of the Jewish and Black experiences, using them as frameworks through which to explore many other identities and communities,” said Jeremy Brok, the Program Director. “Students are trained to have hard conversations with each other about racism, antisemitism, homophobia, and many other forms of inequities and injustices so they can benefit their schools, houses of worship, and communities.”
The High School Leadership Program is a year-long experience starting in December ’23 for current sophomores or juniors.
Students meet monthly on Sunday afternoons in rotating locations across the St. Louis region, engage in three overnight retreats in St. Louis, and embark on a 3-week Transformational Journey in June across the East Coast and South where they visit sites and meet with individuals significant to Jewish and Black history and culture as well as social justice movements.
The Emerging Changemakers Program is a year-long experience also starting in December ’23 for students currently in the 7, 8 & 9th grades. Students meet monthly on Sunday afternoons in rotating locations across the St. Louis area and embark on a 3-day Changemakers Immersion Trip in August where they visit sites and meet with individuals significant to Jewish and Black history and culture as well as social justice movements.
Applications are currently open on Cultural Leadership’s website where you’ll find more info on those programs.
Applications for upcoming classes close September 21 and so students should get their apps in now!
