Rabbi to teach five-part ‘Theology for Life’ series at Aquinas Institute

Rabbi Barry Friedman will lead a series of five classes on “Hinei Mah Tov: Can Jews and Christians Dwell Together in Peace?” on Tuesday nights from Oct. 22 to Nov. 19 at Aquinas Institute of Theology, 23 S. Spring Avenue in St. Louis.
Friedman’s classes will examine the Christian roots of anti-Jewish thought, the impact of the Holocaust and Vatican II as a response, and ambivalence in current Jewish-Christian relations. Classes take place from 6:30-9 p.m. and include:
• Oct. 22: A Jewish View of the New Testament
• Oct. 29: The History of Anti-Semitism in the Catholic Church
• Nov. 5: The Role of the Church in the Holocaust and Its Unfulfilled Duty of Repair
• Nov. 12: A Guided Tour of the Holocaust Museum
• Nov. 19: Discussion of Controversial Contemporary Topics in Jewish-Christian Relations
Sessions are $25 each or $100 forall five.
Participants will be asked to read selections from two books.
