Primetime Expo to offer information, resources for boomers, senior adults and their families

A scene from last year’s Primetime Expo. The annual free event, organized by the Jewish Light, will take place this year from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 at the Jewish Community Center Staenberg Family Complex.

Need help negotiating the Medicare maze?  Want assistance in finding the best living arrangement for your aging parent?  Or simply interested in learning how to make your “prime” years your best? Then mark your calendar for 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28, when the second annual Primetime Expo comes to the Jewish Community Center’s Staenberg Family Complex Gymnasium, 2 Millstone Campus Drive in Creve Coeur.

Building on the success of last year’s event, the 2012 Primetime Expo will feature an expanded number of exhibits and seminars designed to educate Baby Boomers and senior adults on products, services and activities that will enhance their quality of life and their retirement years.

Presented by the Jewish Light, Primetime Expo will showcase more than 60 companies, resources and organizations that serve the Baby Boomer and senior adult markets.

Baby Boomers, senior adults and their families are invited to this free event, featuring exhibits with experts on everything from health, fitness, travel and recreation to housing options for seniors, home health care and legal issues. Additional exhibit categories include retail, financial planning and investments, insurance, technology, home modification and improvements, recreational activities, senior adult services, dining and much more.

While gathering information on these important issues, those attending can enjoy free refreshments courtesy of area restaurants and register for door prizes.

Participants will have the opportunity to attend educational seminars led by top area experts on such topics as dealing with aging parents, Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid benefits, elder law, health and wellness, nutrition, travel and financial planning.   Admission to all seminars is free of charge.

“Primetime Expo represents an extraordinary chance for Baby Boomers, their parents and all senior adults to find out everything they need to know about available products and services, all in one location,” said Larry Levin, Publisher and CEO of the Light. “With nearly 10,000 Americans turning 65 every day, Baby Boomers and seniors represent the fastest-growing demographic in our country.  Not only do Baby Boomers need more information for their own retirement years, but many are facing multiple challenges associated with caring for aging parents. We encourage you to stop by Primetime Expo and take advantage of all the helpful information we have gathered together here.”

During the expo, participants will enjoy free samples of food from area restaurants and supermarkets.

Trade Show/Premier sponsors are BrightStar, ElderLink St. Louis, Gershman Mortgage, The Jewish Community Foundation of St. Louis, Michael Etheridge of Raymond James & Associates, Inc., Midwest Vein Center, Cooperative Home Care and Remember Flotkens.  Platinum level sponsors for the event are BJC Home Care and Damar Travel.
