A group of supporters gathered in front of the Missouri History Museum Library on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 22, to rally and offer prayers for Israel.
The event drew nearly 70 people and was organized in part by the Ferguson-based Civil Righteousness, Inc.
“We are coming together as Jews and Christians and standing in solidarity for Israel and for its right to defend itself,” said Reverand Jonathan T. Thomas from the group. Thomas was joined by Rabbi Ze’ev Smason who led the participants in the singing of “Hine Ma Tov.”
Speakers included Karen Sher, Jewish Federation vice president of community impact, and Lynne Jackson, the great-great-granddaughter of Dred Scott.
