The annual Home Depot Menorah Experience was held Sunday, Dec. 3 at the Brentwood location of the hardware chain.

More than 300 attendees built menorahs from scratch to take home. Now in its 10th year, the event offers an opportunity for kids to get excited about celebrating Hanukkah, according to Rabbi Yosef Landa, regional director of Chabad of Greater St. Louis. “The educational component is very important, especially kids doing it together with their family,” Landa said. “They remember it, they take it home and display it and that’s a very meaningful way to get in the Hanukkah spirit. That’s our goal, and particularly now, it’s very important for children and adults to lean into their Jewish pride and celebrate Judaism even more than they did in the past, and to be confident and proud.”
