The Zarkowskys have been members of NHBZ for more than 42 years. During college, the couple served as advisors to the group that became NCSY. They were also very active parents at Epstein Hebrew Academy and Block Yeshiva high school. Today Vivian regularly serves as machgiach in the synagogue kitchen. Alan is a past president and past vice-president of NHBZ and currently serves as Gabbai, Chairman of the Religious Committee and Trustee. Vivian and Alan can always be found helping with pizza night and kiddush.

Eisenberg serves on the synagogues board of directors and the Chesed Committee. She chairs the kitchen committee and was instrumental in establishing the synagogue’s emergency Tehillim Circle as well as ongoing NHBZ kosher dinner events. She volunteers at the Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry and local assisted living facilities. She organized a recipe project at the Jewish Family and Children’s Service and hosts a monthly Loaves of Love program at her home sponsored by Chabad in memory of her father.
