Nominations sought for high school scholar athletes

The Jewish Community Center is accepting nominations for Jewish high school scholar athletes.

In the fall of 2018, the J will host its eighth induction of the St. Louis Jewish Sports Hall of Fame. At this event, in addition to honoring inductees, the committee will recognize and award scholarships to high school scholar athletes.

Nominations will be accepted for Jewish students (male and female) in the St. Louis area who have made significant contributions or accomplishments in athletics and academics, leadership skills and community service. These individuals are of strong character and serve as positive role models for athletics within their community. Recipients will receive a $500 tuition scholarship to be used at the college of their choice.

Candidates must be Jewish, attend a St. Louis high school and be in the Class of 2019. All nominations must be submitted on the official 2018 Outstanding Athlete nomination form, available at jccstl.org. Nomination forms and supporting documentation must be submitted no later than May 31. All forms must be completed in their entirety to be considered. A selection committee will evaluate all submissions. Selected inductees will be announced in the summer.
