Nishmah Salon discusses ‘Living with Secrets’
Published January 9, 2013
Nishmah’s Salon series will kick off for 2013 on Jan. 22-24. The series offers and opportunity to connect and engage with other women in meaningful discussion on topics of interest to us as Jewish women. Each Salon is held in a different location and/or time with different facilitators. Women of all ages are invited to participate.
The first two winter salons will be held Tuesday, Jan. 22 at the Jewish Community Center’s Staenberg Family Complex Beit Midrash. Diane Maier will facilitate the first session at noon and Sara Winkelman will facilitate one at 7:30 p.m.
At 7:30 p.m. Jan. 23, a salon will take place in a private University City home facilitated by Jennifer Newfeld.
The last winter salon will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 24 at a Chesterfield private home. Homes will be given upon registration.
Each salon will discuss the article “Living with Secrets” from Reform Judaism’s magazine, which tells how everyone keeps secrets, though some come at a high price. The discussion will focus on both contemporary and traditional sources shared in the article, when it is best to keep the truth to ourselves and when to reveal what’s in our hearts.
Suggested donation for each salon is $15. Register online at www.nishmah.org or contact Director Sara Winkelman: 314.442.3268 or [email protected]
