Nishmah marking 10th anniversary at Pre-Passover Event

Nishmah will honor Karen Sher, co-founder and past president of Nishmah, and celebrate the organization’s 10th Anniversary during the Journey, Nishmah’s annual pre-Passover event, held Tuesday, March 10 at the Jewish Community Center Staenberg Family Complex, 2 Millstone Campus Drive.

Sher has served in so many roles in the community, both as a professional and as a lay leader. “Karen is one of those rare people who can move seamlessly through her varied roles, while continuing to be a good friend to so many,” said Nishmah Director Sara Winkelman. “She is thoughtful and conscientious and has made a difference, not only to Nishmah but to the entire St. Louis Jewish community.”

Nishmah President Missy Korenblat-Hanin said this year’s event will focus on freedom and encouraging participants “to find their own personal freedom.” The event will include “inspiration stations,” with various interactive activities for participants of all ages. The evening will also feature musical artist Michelle Citrin, a nationally recognized singer and songwriter, featured on Time.com’s Top 10 list of “New Jewish Rock Stars,” as well as Billboard music’s top songwriter honor and VH1 song of the year finalist.

Registration for the Journey is open until March 2. The deadline for tributes is Feb. 25. Register online for the event or pay for tributes online at nishmah.org. For more information, contact Winkelman at 314-442-3268 or [email protected].
