Nishmah holds open auditions for ‘St. Louis Got Talent’

Nishmah is holding open auditions for the February production of “St. Louis Got Talent,” a fund-raising event to benefit the organization. The event is sponsored by the Jewish Light. Up to 10 finalists will be selected to compete for cash and travel prizes. Finalists will perform in front of celebrity judges and hundreds of people on Feb. 13, at the William D. Purser Center at Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield. Celebrity judges will be announced in November.

The following types of performers are requested: Band, Comedian, Dance Group, Dancer, Impressionist, Juggler, Musician, Singer, Singing Group, Variety, or other. In order to audition you must be 10 years of age or older. If under 18, you must be accompanied by an adult. All auditioning will be asked to sign a release form.

On-site auditions will take place from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10 at the Creve Coeur Government Center, 300 N. New Ballas Road (between Ladue and Olive) and from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25 at the Regional Arts Commission, 6128 Delmar Boulevard (in the U. City Loop). All auditions must be scheduled in advance by emailing [email protected].

You can also upload an audition video onto the YouTube website and send a link to [email protected]. Title your video “St. Louis Got Talent Your Name” and also use this title in the subject line of your e-mail. The deadline is midnight Oct. 25. Online submissions must be accompanied by a release form, which can be downloaded at www.stlgottalent.com.

Both in person and online auditions cannot exceed three minutes. Microphone and CD players will be provided at the on-site auditions. Recorded music is allowed, but no lip-synching. You are encouraged to leave behind a photo of yourself with your name on the back (at on-site audition). You will not receive the photo back.

Finalists will be determined by the end of October.
