On Jan. 8 or 11, Kindermusik will hold a celebration, “Little Musicians” to benefit the St. Louis Symphony at 9:30 a.m. at the Jewish Community Center Marilyn Fox Building (JCC), 16801 Baxter Rd. There is no charge.
Donations to the St. Louis Symphony are optional.

OACAP to hold meeting
OACAP, (older) Adult Community Action Program’s December open board meeting, Wednesday, Dec. 26, will primarily be a time for members to come together for fun, friendship and to celebrate the end of 2007. The meeting will be at 10 a.m., at Crown Center, 8350 Delcrest Drive, in the Weinberg Lounge. There will be a brief business meeting prior to the informal program. All members are invited. Zeda’s Beat Box will play

Lion’s Den offers pizza
Fresh kosher pizza in the St. Louis area can be found at the monthly Lion’s Den Pizza Night dinners at Nusach Hari B’nai Zion Synagogue.
The community enjoys these events on the last Sunday evening of each month.
There’s the famous Sandie’s tossed salad bowl, crispy garlic toast, numerous pizza combos from Uncle Will’s pizza oven, beverage and desert.
All is served on an all-you-care-to-eat basis and at family fare prices of $10 for adults and $6 for kids. The next Lion’s Den is Dec. 30 at 5 p.m.
Lunchtime book talk set
There will be a book talk presented by educator and book discussion leader Naomi Fishman, of The Yiddish Policemen’s Union by Michael Chabon, a murder mystery, a love story and an homage to 1940s noir, set in the imaginary Jewish homeland that is Alaska, at 11:30 a.m., Jan. 16.
The program will be held at the Saul Brodsky Jewish Community Library, located in the Jewish Federation Kopolow Building, 12 Millstone Campus Drive.
Bring a sack lunch — coffee and dessert will be provided.
Admission is $7 per person; free to Friends of the Library.
Reservations are required by Jan. 15.

PJ Storytime at Brodsky Library to celebrate Tu Bishevat Jan. 15
Children ages 3-9 and their parents and grandparents are invited to celebrate Tu Bishevat at PJ Storytime on Tuesday, Jan. 15 at 6:45 p.m., at the Saul Brodsky Jewish Community Library, 12 Millstone Campus Dr.
Children are encouraged to wear their pajamas to this evening celebration which will feature stories of trees and nature by library director Barbara Raznick, crafts and a special treat.

JFed campaign to be launched with party
“We’ll bring the bar…you bring the mitzvah” is the tagline for the Young Professionals Division of Jewish Federation’s 2008 Campaign Kickoff event, a YPD bar mitzvah party. It will run from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Ritz-Carlton. The event will feature open bar, desserts and radio talent Deejay Jay Maddox, caricaturists, a strolling magician, balloon artist, games, prizes photographers and dancing. Those who attend are encouraged to bring school supplies for underprivileged children in St. Louis’ sister-city region in Israel, Yokne’am-Megiddo. Cost is $36 to pre-register or $40 at the door.
