Aish to hold dinner, services

Aish HaTorah will hold a Chinese dinner on Friday, Jan. 11 at 5:45 p.m. Rabbi Greenwald will lead a discussion on the nature of free will. Candlelighting and educational services will begin at 4:45 p.m. Call 314-862-2474 for more information.

Shaare Emeth ready to dedicate new prayerbook

On Friday, Jan. 11 at the 7:45 p.m. Shabbat Evening Worship, Congregation Shaare Emeth will hold a dedication of the new prayerbook, Mishkan T’filah which will be dedicated in honor of Rabbi Emeritus Jeffrey B. Stiffman. Each copy will have a special nameplate dedicated to the rabbi.

Through the generosity of an anonymous donor, Congregation Shaare Emeth was able to purchase 700 copies of the Shabbat version of Mishkan T’filah and 250 copies of the “Weekday and Festival” version.

Reconstructionist Minyan will show WWII movie

The Reconstructionist Minyan of St. Louis will host a “Brunch and Learn” on Jan. 13, at Hillel at 6300 Forsyth Avenue. Brunch will be provided by the Minyan begining at 11 a.m., followed by the showing of a motion picture entitled “Army of Shadows” — a story of the French Resistance of World War II. The film will be introduced and followed by a discussion led by Professor Steven Hause of the Washington University’s History Department. The public is invited. Bais Abe to hold ‘Singing and Dancing’ service

Bais Abraham will hold a Shalom Shabbat Friday night Singing and Dancing Carlebach service followed by a festive Shabbat dinner on Jan. 11. Kabbalat shabbat will be at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m. Following dinner YABA ( Young Adults @ Bais Abe will sponsor an Oneg Shabbat for young professionals and graduate students at the home of Rabbi Hyim Shafner and Sara Winkelman.
