The National Council of Jewish Women – St. Louis Section will bestow its Hannah G. Solomon Award to civil rights legend Frankie Muse Freeman and former state legislator Senator Joan Bray, two women who have empowered the community with their unique voices in support of women, children and families.
The Hannah G. Solomon Founder’s Award will be presented at Celebrating Women, NCJW’s premier event on Thursday, Nov. 3 at Neiman Marcus in Plaza Frontenac (second level) between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. at an hors d’oeuvre reception. Award recipients do not have to be an NCJW member, Jewish or female, but they must fulfill one or more of the following criteria:
• Exemplify the NCJW mission of improving the quality of life for women, children and families.
• Expand and promote the status of women in vital areas of community life.
• Work to ensure and advance individual and civil rights.
• Provide leadership that has motivated others to fight for progress and enlightenment in our community.
“NCJW is proud to honor Frankie Muse Freeman and Senator Joan Bray,” says NCJW’s Sally Katzif, co-chair of the Celebrating Women event. “These dynamic women have demonstrated a commitment to public service and their work has been in concert with the NCJW mission of supporting women, children, and families in protecting individual and civil rights.”
The cost to attend is $20 for NCJW members and $25 for non-members. To RSVP, call NCJW at 314-993-5181 or visit www.ncjwstl.org.
