NA’AMAT USA plans phoneathon

NA’AMAT USA St. Louis Council will launch its Spiritual Adoption Campaign on June 5 with a phonathon. This year’s campaign focuses on children of economically disadvantaged families in Israel to assure them a place in one of NA’AMAT’s daycare centers.
NA’AMAT’s Daycare Center Program has served as a model for the Head Start Program here in the U.S. and for other pre-school programs throughout the world.
During 2010, NA’AMAT invested approximately $2.9 million in its Early Childhood Network, which included basic renovations in many of its centers, purchasing new equipment, major renovations in one center and building one new center in Tel-Aviv.
In 2011, NA’AMAT plans to build a new day care center in Nes Ziona (south of Tel Aviv) and computerize all of its centers around Israel.
For $360 a year, or less than $1 a day, members of the community can adopt an Israeli child and help make sure that no child will be turned away.
NA’AMAT USA has new groups forming. Annual dues is $36. Life membership is $250. For more information, call NA’AMAT USA St. Louis Council at 314-993-3033.
