Monthly ‘Torah and Takeout’ series for young professionals begins June 29

Congregation Temple Israel is hosting “Torah and Takeout,” a new monthly program for young professionals and young adults pairing Jewish texts with takeout from local restaurants such as Granite City Brewery, Katie’s Pizza and Pasta and Oishi Sushi.

All events are from 6 to 8 p.m. on the third or fourth Monday of each month at Temple Israel, 1 Rabbi Alvin D. Rubin Drive in Creve Coeur. The cost may vary by event, and babysitting is available upon request for a small fee. All events in the series can be viewed on Temple Israel’s online event calendar at www.ti-stl.org

The series kicks off on Monday, June 29, and will feature takeout from Sugarfire Smoke House. Beer, wine and nonalcoholic beverages will be served. June’s Torah Topic will be: Holy Smokes! BBQ, Beer and Blessings in the Bible.

The series continues with events on July 27, Aug. 31, Oct. 26, Nov. 30, Jan. 25, Feb. 29, March 28, April 25 and May 23.
