A Missouri State House investigative committee released a report Wednesday alleging that Gov. Eric Greitens slapped and threatened a woman who he had an affair with in 2015.
The woman, who has not been named in any reports, alleges that Greitens slapped her after she told him that she had slept with her husband.
“I felt like he was trying to claim me,” she told members of the committee, who have been investigating allegations that Greitens had taken a photo of his mistress without her consent and threatened to use it against her if she revealed the affair.
The report continues: “The slap did not leave a mark but ‘was just jarring. It wasn’t sweet and gentle; it was forceful.'”
Greitens, who is Jewish, said in a press conference prior to the release of the report that the investigation was a “political witch hunt.”
