Mirowitz brings Hebrew storytime event to St. Louis

Children ages 2-8 who have at least one Hebrew-speaking parent are invited to a free, interactive storytime program from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22 at Saul Mirowitz Jewish Community School, 348 South Mason Road in Creve Coeur. The event is part of Sifriyat Pijama B’America, a Hebrew literacy program that includes free, age-appropriate Hebrew books and Hebrew story time activities held quarterly at Mirowitz. The event will include a Hebrew book reading, related craft projects, Israeli dancing and themed snacks.

Mirowitz was selected as the St. Louis home for Sifriyat Pijama this fall.

Natalie Krechely is one of more than 20 Hebrew-speaking parents who have participated in the literacy programs there. “We love receiving the Sifriyat Pijama books,” Krechely said. “Taking our daughter to the storytime creates a sense of home for our family, and allows us meaningful interaction a Hebrew-speaking community.”
