Millstone Institute welcomes founder of Challah for Hunger to start series

Eli Winkelman, Founder and Director of Challah for Hunger, will be the featured speaker at “The Inspiring Leaders” Speaker Series sponsored by The Millstone Institute on Thursday, April 7. The program will take place at the offices of Armstrong Teasdale, 7700 Forsyth Boulevard in Clayton, beginning with a continental breakfast at 7:45 a.m. The Millstone Institute is a new community-wide approach to engaging and inspiring volunteer leaders and professionals in the Jewish community. Winkelman founded Challah for Hunger and was cited in Bill Clinton’s book as an example of “compelling” giving, highlighting how Challah for Hunger bakes and sells challah bread to raise money and awareness for social justice causes. The organization also trains leaders, teaches critical philanthropy, builds community and bridges between communities.

The program is free of charge and open to the community. The series will continue with Jonathan Kaufman Co-Founder of the One Percent Foundation (OPF) on Friday, May 6th. OPF educates, organizes and mobilizes young adults in their 20s and 30s to become generous, committed, and strategic philanthropists.

Programs are made possible by generous support from the Lubin-Green Foundation, a supporting foundation of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis, and the Millstone Foundation. For more information and to RSVP, contact Karen Sher at the Jewish Federation, 442-3824 or e-mail [email protected].
