Millstone Institute to host two-part ‘Inspiring Leaders’ series
Published January 18, 2012
The Millstone Institute for Jewish Leadership will host a two-part Inspiring Leaders Speakers Series featuring Will Schneider, Director of Slingshot, a non-profit that promotes innovation in Jewish life through a resource guide and next-generation funding.
Schneider will point out how young adults are changing the face of the North American Jewish community. The first program, “Creating a Framework for Innovation Within Our Organizations” will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6 in the Jewish Federation Kopolow Building. The following day, from 7:45 to 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, Schneider will discuss, “Engaging the Next Generation of Funders” at the offices of Armstrong Teasdale, 7700 Forsyth Boulevard in Clayton.
The Slingshot organization is funded by a group of 20- and 30-somethings who pool their financial resources and brainpower to create Slingshot: A Resource Guide for Jewish Innovation, an annual listing of the 50 most innovative Jewish organizations in North America. A limited number of grants are then allocated to organizations featured in the guide. Slingshot has featured St. Louis’ own Jewish Rock Radio and Moishe House.
Both programs are free and open to the community. RSVP by Thursday, Feb. 2 to Karen Sher at 314-442-3824 or [email protected].
