Millstone Institute plans leadership seminar, workshop series

The Millstone Institute for Jewish Leadership is sponsoring IMPACT: Enhancing Organizational Leadership, a series for board members, professionals and volunteers in the St. Louis Jewish community. The program includes a half-day seminar and choice of three workshops, each of which will be offered at two different dates/times to accommodate schedules.
The seminar, “Leadership with Impact,” will be facilitated by Ellen Kagen Waghelstein, director of the Georgetown Leadership Program. Participants will learn tools for decision-making and ways to create authentic change in their organizations and businesses. The seminar will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 3 and again from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, March 4.
The three workshops include:
• “Communicating for Impact,” presented by Joan Denison, executive director of Covenant-CHAI Apartments; from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11 and again from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12 Participants will learn how to craft a message, eliminate excess words and tap into emotional content. Denison spent 20 years as a corporate trainer before becoming a nonprofit executive.
• “Relationship Building for Impact,” with Ed Reggi, project manager at the Nine Network of Public Media and actor, activist and teacher at COCA; from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9 and again from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, April 15. Reggi will show ways to energize meetings, develop creative ideas and strengthen commitments to their organizations.
• “Fundraising for Impact,” presented by Rae Ringel, executive coach and national leadership trainer with the Ringel Group; from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23 and again that evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Ringel will share how volunteers and donors can live their passions while fulfilling their organization’s mission.
The half-day seminar costs $35 and includes lunch. All workshops are free of charge. All events will be held at the Jewish Federation Kopolow Building, 12 Millstone Campus Drive.
