Deborah Grayson Riegel-the professional coach, trainer and speaker who wowed the 2011 JProStl Professional Leadership Conference-is returning to St. Louis on June 29 and June 30 to mark the official launch of the innovative new Millstone Institute for Jewish Leadership. She will make five presentations over two days for board leaders, volunteers, and staff professionals of the St. Louis Jewish community.
In “Solicitation without the Tsuris” (Wednesday, June 29, 7 p.m.) Grayson Riegel focuses on enhancing knowledge, skills, confidence and motivation in organizational fundraising.
Thursday morning at 8 a.m., Grayson Riegel’s presentation “Oh, (BLEEP!) Another Meeting?” starts the day by revealing how every meeting offers an opportunity to reinvigorate people’s participation in the vital work of the organization.

At 10 a.m., she explains “Appreciative Inquiry,” a technique for identifying what’s working well in an organization and applying it to strategic planning, meetings and even one-on-one conversations to produce positive, powerful change.
For her noon presentation, Grayson Riegel shifts to “Strategic Storytelling to Recruit, Engage and Inspire,” showing how to create mission-driven stories that use a balance of facts and emotion to make an impact and incorporate the critical call-to-action.
She will make a fifth presentation, “Managing and Motivating,” at 4 p.m. for staff only.
The Millstone Institute for Jewish Leadership is a new community-wide approach to engaging and inspiring volunteer leaders and professionals in the St. Louis Jewish community. Admission to the sessions above is free, thanks to the generous support of the Lubin-Green Foundation, a supporting foundation of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis, and the Millstone Foundation.
