Millstone Institute launches leadership series

The Millstone Institute for Jewish Leadership is planning a new series of professional development presentations for board members, staff and volunteers in the Jewish community. IMPACT: Enhancing Organizational Leadership will welcome powerful speakers who will offer each session at two different times and dates to help accommodate participants’ schedules.

All classes will be held in the Jewish Federation Kopolow Building, 12 Millstone Campus Drive in Creve Coeur.

The series kicks off with Brian Hayden, Management Consultant at Collaborative Strategies, who will speak from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15 and again from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17. Hayden will lead a program on Planning for Impact about how to think boldly about an organization’s future while staying grounded in realities.

The series continues from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 and repeated from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, with Rae Ringel, an executive coach and leadership trainer at the Ringel Group. Ringel will present a program on Fundraising for Impact, examining how to help volunteers live their passions while fulfilling their organization’s mission.

Rahna Barthelmess will lead the next session from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15 and repeated from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6. Barthelmess is a marketing consultant who has worked in the branding business for LEGO, Build-A-Bear and currently at Jewish Federation. She will head a program on Branding for Impact to look at ways to determine what makes an organization unique and how to make others care about what the organization does.

The series will continue into 2013 with three sessions. Communicating for Impact will be held by Joan Denison, Executive Director of Covenant House/CHAI Apartments, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, and repeated from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12.
