Millstone Institute for Jewish Leadership plans Board Boot Camp
Published April 9, 2015
The Millstone Institute for Jewish Leadership will hold “Board Boot Camp: Keeping Your Board Members in Shape,” for new and returning board members from throughout the St. Louis Jewish community, on Tuesday, April 28 at Jewish Federation Kopolow Building, 12 Millstone Campus. A complimentary light dinner will be available at 6 p.m., followed by two tracks for new and returning board members.
Leslie Peters of Elements Partnership will present “Fundamentals of Board Leadership” from 6:30 to 8:40 p.m. Peters will facilitate an interactive program to create a shared vision for board success, clarify roles, explore stages of effective decision making and ensure ongoing engagement. Participants can otherwise choose to attend two one-hour workshops including “Making Tough Calls” with Brian Hayden of Collaborative Strategies and “The Power of a Clear Message” with Aimee Muirnin Dunne. “Making Tough Calls” will highlight pro-active decision making, cataloging options for effective outcomes and staying mission focused. “The Power of a Clear Message” will include interactive exercises to identify needs, clarify your passions and make a powerful “ask.”
Board Boot Camp is open to all board members and volunteers from throughout the Jewish community. Board Boot Camp is free of charge, but advanced registration is required.
