MERS/Goodwill, Cardinals partner for electronics recycling

MERS/Goodwill is partnering with the St. Louis Cardinals to host an electronics recycling and general donations drive from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, April 22. The drive will be located near the ballpark on Parking Lot C at the corner of 8th and Cerre streets, immediately south of I-64/40.

“We’re very thankful that the Cardinals are teaming up with us again this year for the donation drive. These donations will make a difference to improve the life of someone in our community,” said Dr. Lewis Chartock, President and CEO of MERS/Goodwill.

Donors will receive a voucher for a half-price Cardinals ticket offer, though restrictions apply.  Additionally, participants will receive coupons for a free coffee at Dunkin’ Donuts, while supplies last, and have a chance to meet Fredbird at 10:30 a.m. Tax receipts for donations will be available.

“Community involvement is really important to us,” said Bill DeWitt, Jr., Chairman and CEO of the St. Louis Cardinals. “The Cardinals are always happy to help benefit both the environment and the economy in St. Louis, and this recycling and donation drive is a perfect way to accomplish that.”

All items will be accepted free of charge, and donors do not need to sort their items prior to dropping them off. Computers and computer accessories, phones (home and cell), clocks, VCRs, DVD players, stereos, A/V equipment including cable and satellite boxes, and any other electronic devices and general donations will be accepted.

All MERS/Goodwill stores and donation centers accept all types of electronics free of charge every day. Visit www.mersgoodwill.org for more information.
