The Jewish Community Relations Council of St. Louis is hosting several events Tuesday, Nov. 19, featuring Amy Spitalnick, CEO of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA), which will culminate in a conversation with Congregation Shaare Emeth Rabbi Andrea Goldstein about “Confronting Antisemitism and Fostering Bridge-Building in a Polarized World.” The conversation, followed by an audience Q&A, will take place at 7 p.m. at Jewish Federation, 12 Millstone Campus Drive. It is free and open to the community but registration is required here.
JCPA has served as the national convener of Jewish coalitions working to build a just and inclusive democracy—bringing together national and local partners to address the issues that most deeply affect the Jewish community and advance their essential values.
Prior to her appointment with JCPA, Spitalnick worked as executive director of Integrity First for America, which won its groundbreaking lawsuit against the neo-Nazis, white supremacists and hate groups responsible for the Charlottesville violence. Under her leadership, IFA became a powerful national voice in the fight against white supremacy, antisemitism and extremism – and its Charlottesville case has emerged as a model for accountability.
At 6 p.m., before the main program, the JCRC is inviting young professionals to meet with Spitalnick for a more casual conversation about her career path and experience as a young Jewish professional at the helm of a national organization. Wine and light snacks will be served. Again, this event is free but registration is required here.
